The main intellectual challenge in ECE 391 is reasoning about the correctness and reliability of a large, complicated, and purely abstract system (an operating system) with many constantly moving parts that you can't see, hear, feel, or touch. Not to mention taking difeq at the same time Cut out 313 and 385 at minimum You can't go wrong with ece 385 and cs 225 for some programming and hardware maturity. . While both involve MOSFETs, 482 delves more in the layout design of the transistor itself (you actually learn where to put the gate, drain and source and contacts and shit like this) whereas 483, as you know, deals more with putting transistors together in a configuration (cascode, cascade and whatnot) to make an amplifier or whatever. In 385, you're going be writing a 10+ page report on the lab you just finished last week while working on the lab that's due this week while learning (in lectures) about the lab that is due next week so ECE 385 is a fair bit of work but with a good partner it's not so bad if you're a fast worker. It's going to be hard, but if you were even considering the 4 classes you asked about in the post you should be ok. (8 to 10 out of 10 difficulty, anywhere from 6 to 10 out of 10 time depending on your partner) ECE 329: difficult course, work isn’t super time consuming to do if you know what you’re doing but conceptually very hard with tough exams. Don't pile 313 (nightmare) AND 385 (unavoidable massive time sink) into that too. My lab is from 9AM-12PM on wednesday. You also could take Math 213 instead of CS 173 2nd semester and take ECE 210, CS 225, Math 257, and Phys 213/214 (15 credits) 3rd semester with no additional courses and then with all of ECE 342 is more applicable to the hardware side of system design/embedded while 310 is more focused towards the software side.
