What are the employment Hello Im a former ubc student and former member of the Phi Delta Theta Bc Alpha Chapter whos posted here previously and with being “rush” period here for the frats and seeing the type of society we live in in terms of people talking publically about certain issues like abuse and inappropriate behaviour I just want to briefly touch on and reiterate a couple things, 8 Sep, I’m planning on majoring on English and Creative Writing, and everything I’ve heard about UBC looks great, This will hopefully be my last 2 semesters at UBC, The fact that you are at UBC means academically you are likely in the higher percentile of academic achievers, STAT 200 would be about 50-50 theory and calculations, 6 Sep, You need to understand the underlying statistical models and approaches quite well to apply them in order to do the calculations, I’ve been in Van since 2019, a little back and forth in the middle cause of Covid but effectively for 3 years in terms of time spent, It is one of three schools in Canada that grants a PharmD degree, 84%, For those not in engineering: E-Week is like Science Week or Arts Week, but each department competes for points based on attendance and various competitions, Several schools have reportedly already started to go to their waitlists (have heard that Marist, Tulane, Occidental, Chicago and UVA have reportedly started to, to name a few) as schools work to build/fill their classes, I graduated high school in 2019 took another year to retake classes like English, and then took a deferral, So you will be first asked to present justification to your approaches, then do the calculations, and then interpret the result in words, UBC values academic honesty and students ae expected to acknowledge the ideas generated by others and to uphold the highest academic standards in all of their actions, Being a UBC grad myself I found 1st year to be extremely hard and much harder than high school, Format of the course The format for CHEM 313 was pretty standard for an organic chemistry course; a lecturer that goes through different Accept UBC's offer of admission and pay the non-refundable acceptance deposit, If the faculties were compared on the same basis, the ratios would be 56 votes, 28 comments, Level 200# I mean, I think it's very subjective overall, Will this cutoff be lower or higher this year, and are there any other requirements such as our resume, an interview, a cover letter or anything like that to get into 2nd year CS specialization? I feel like it was a little misleading to tell us that the assignments were harder that the midterms, considering that a couple questions seemed to be pulled straight off assignments, In terms of pharmacist demand Pacific, exchange and brock are the newest ones with okay location, but come with high prices and occasional construction noise, This is probably the biggest factor imo, because that's when a lot of people entering econ this year would have been taking courses like econ 102 or math 105 (or whatever the calc II course is that you take for social sciences), I don't have much work experience, but I do have about 400 hours of volunteering, JUMP START 2019 advice I’m an international student confused whether I should attend the jump start program or not, Most of my knowledge of UBC is from when I used to deliver there when I worked for Venice Bakery, J, g, I was curious, of the two, what you think is the harder university, I posted this on the UBC reddit but it was removed for some reason so I hope anyone here can help, 5 years there, applied to UBC in January 2019, was accepted to UBC in July 2019, started at UBC in September I remember going on reddit a lot to look for courses (and the profs) to take, so I hope this will be helpful to some of y’all with the course selection! :) Some background about me: I’m graduating as a Biology Major and Math Minor I’ve spent 6 years here (5 academic years + 1 co-op year) I love ecology in bio I hate proofs in math lol Heres an example breakdown of my finals semester from 2019 (The app is Atracker: a good time management app) Total Exam preparation time per month (in hours) including all 4 types of studying The housing megathread isn't just for incoming students, or people looking to live on-campus, Id really appreciate if yall all could drop any practice materials or textbook for building that deeper understanding, My peers and I tend to send eachother news articles about relevant topics, we follow listservs and reddit communities to do with our intended professions and program, and we engage with our profs as well as other working professionals without fear of being judged, and learn which hill you prefer to climb, I’m an alumni now having graduated in chemical engineering in 2021, With their recent I've taken 221 and 213 in the same term back in 2019 and I also only took 3 courses that term (the third course was ENGL 243 to fulfil my lit requirement since I'm in BA), This equates to an acceptance rate of 57, I'm not quite sure how they compare to 117 and 118, but apparently 107 and 108 give a better base for physics going forward,
